Pay It Forward

So I'm writing this entry in hopes that this one 'kind' deed catches on and more people start doing it.
Every time I leave the grocery store, load my items and my kid in the car, I always make the effort to putting the cart back in the return cart area of the parking lot.  I always hesitate and think how annoying it is and how I really don't have time for it, but do it anyway and talk myself into getting a few more steps on my pedometer (no, I don't really wear one).  So this is what sparked my idea of a 'kind' deed.
When I pull up to the grocery store and get out of my car, I find someone who is just about finished loading their car and I say "can I take your cart for you?"  So far,  I have gotten such a warm and friendly response.  Hey, I just saved them 1-3 minutes in their busy lives.  Little do they know it helps me too.  It saves me from carrying a heavy diaper bag and a 20+lb baby in my arms to the store entrance.  Win-Win!
So, I'm hoping more and more people do this.  I would love it that as I am walking to the cart return, someone stops and says 'can I take that for you, I might as well, since I am already going in.'  It's such a kind deed.

great idea, or you can me like me and just park right next to the cart return rack, no matter how far away from the store it is, that way you can pick up a cart there also. :) haha.

I always find a cart that someone left in the parking lot and take it in, wether I need one or not. And I ALWAYS put my cart in one of the return spots. I do it because I saw a clip on a tv show about manners and politeness. It talked about how easy it is to do this and how rude not to. So, in my attempt to have manners... But I like your reason and way better. Ü

What a great deed. I always put my cart back. It bugs so bad when people just leave them in the parking lot. LAZY. It will be my goal this week to ask to take someone's cart for them. Hope all is well.

hey, I gave mine today to someone who had just pulled up, and they were equally grateful. I also take them from old ladies (seems like there are a lot in my town) when I'm walking in. Good idea!
