Window Shopping

I'm really not that great with words and writing like so many bloggers out there.  But I do have so many thoughts running through my head day in and day out that I like to try and jot down. Today, especially.

My husband was running out the door this morning to go to work and I asked him the usual question, "What time will you be home?".  This way I can plan dinner, chores, activities throughout the day etc.  He replied, "What time do you want me home?" (he can sometimes come home earlier on Fridays if he's worked a big week).  I then invited him to come to my 'once in a blue moon' get dressed up and go shopping at Nordstrom trip.  This is a tradition started my my Grandma Kay, continued by my father (who yes, likes to shop), and now it has stuck with me who will be passing it on to Jane.  I look forward to this every time and try to make it super special. Please keep in mind that I rarely buy anything.  I just like to stroll around with Jane, eat my Tomato Basil soup at the cafe, and drool over the shoes, purses, accessories, Mac makeup.........
Well, after being so nice to invite my husband on this special trip I got the response "Just to window shop right?".   I was insulted!  How dare he think I was going to rack up the credit card and spend frivilessly...I didn't deserve that.  I have shown much restraint in our marriage when it comes to spending money (despite what you all are thinking right now).  I'm a Target Clearance/never full price Old Navy kind of girl.  I think by him saying that, it put a Kibosh on the whole trip.  I rather go to Nordies with the thought I could buy anything, but gladly held back, go home with will power pride.  Not because someone told you "No".  I hate being told "No."  It makes me want it, whatever 'it' is, more.  Don't tell me "No", just give me hope that anything is possible.

Enough rambling on.  Today is not a Nordstrom day.  It will be a go to the dry cleaners, do a couple returns,  go to the post office kind of day.  And that's okay.

I can't possibly just "window shop" at the MAC store. It's not possible. So I have to totally avoid that place unless I have the money to spend!
