Spring Break Getaway

Phillip and I really wanted plans for Spring Break, and realized we haven't been on a vacation "by ourselves" for two years, so we headed to Vegas.  We did what we always wanted to do...we wanted to do Vegas the right way.  Stay in a fancy hotel, do a lot of shopping, lay out, and see some shows.  First, we lovingly dropped Jane off at Grandma and Grandpa Packer's in St. George (did a little sand volley ball too), and we were off!  We stayed at the Venetian in one of their "standard suites" which was amazing and over looked the strip and garden pools!  The first night we ate at the Gold Coast Hotel (thanks for the recommendation Lisa) where Phillip had his 20 oz prime rib and I had my Milety Minyon with bacon wrapped shrimp (yum!).  Then we went to see "Mystere" Circ de Soleil  at Treasure Island.  Day 2 we woke up, and spend most the afternoon at the beautiful pool and then shopping.  That night was the highlight when we went to see the musical "Jersey Boys".  It lived up to and even exceeded our expectations.  Day 3 we woke up and spent some time at the garden jacuzzi and casually checked out at noon.  We headed to Henderson to eat at Claim Jumper.  It was delicious, it took us two days to eat the "mother load" cake and we enjoyed every minute.

Well, now back to reality.  Vacation is over.  We got home late Wednesday night, but had a blast.  We sorely need that.  Friday night, we saw Wicked (for the 2nd time, first time in London).  That was amazing.  I LOVE that musical.  Phillip and I have really discovered that we are theater junkies together and hope to see more shows in the future.  It's fun to do things we both love together.
