Leaving Las Vegas

This is harder than I thought....leaving Las Vegas. Last night I went to "game night" with the girls in my ward. There I was laughing and having a great time with 20 incredible women, knowing that I'll probably never see them again. I was very honest with them and let them know I was moving...although I was tempted to quietly slip away because I HATE goodbyes. I respect these girls and I just had to express my love for them. They totally embraced me and invited me to some fun activities, knowing I'd only be here for a short time. I'm grateful for them. They taught me a lot. I will miss them.

This morning was Jane's last time at the gym. The caretakers there have really taken a liking to Jane and was sad to see her go. They are so sweet. Everyday Jane would say "slide down mama", which means, "let's go to the gym because I have so much fun there". I'll miss that.

Well, my apartment is in shambles with boxes everywhere. I still have so much packing to do. It's amazing how much stuff we fit into this small apartment. Last night Phillip was having a tough time packing...he isn't ready to move. He feel's a little betrayed. Luckily I have a fabulous Saturday planned to cheer him up. It's our 8th wedding anniversary and it's my year to plan. I got us tickets to be on the game show "Let's Make a Deal" which is filmed here in Las Vegas with Wayne Brady as the host. I have a wonderful steak dinner planned at Del Frisco's then spend the night at the Vdara. Sunday will be dedicated to packing again, so hopefully we can mentally get away from all this craziness for a day. You are probably thinking, "What are they doing with Jane?" Well, Grandma and Grandpa Packer are so kind to take her while we have fun and pack. Plus it'll be good to get Jane out of this apartment...she's a little confused with what's going on.

I leave Monday morning to head back to Utah. I have a busy three days in Salt Lake before Christmas... full of get togethers and appointements. Phillip is leaving Wednesday with a full Uhaul and meeting me at our townhome in North Salt Lake that night. That's why I'm so anxious to get everything packed by Sunday evening. I'm sure I'm not the only one busy this holiday season...so I wish you all the best as the holidays wrap up!

You will see us again. It was so nice to get to you know you in the short time that you were here. We will miss you tons! I missed having Jane in Nursery that sunday. She is the cutest little girl. We will have to keep in touch, I have a ton of family in Utah.

O.K. I read your blog about your grandpa before I read that you are moving back to Utah. Yipeee! By the sounds of things, you may already be back in your townhome, right? Unfortunately, you are now in the Legacy Stake, but we'll plan to see you sometime soon!
