Liar

So my child has made a liar out of me. She is not potty trained in one day, dang it. I spoke too soon. I give up. I am so sick of cleaning up accidents, spending half the day on the potty with rare results, and rewarding her for being dry when she isn't minutes later. I'm so confused because I only did this because she basically told me to. As for right now I'm done. Perhaps after this crazy move I'll give it a go again. For now, back to diapers. I'm so disappointed.

It is a frustrating process. But this could be a blessing in disguise, since you're moving. Even if she were really trained, big transitions like moving can cause regression anyway. January is a good time to start again. Or spring, when she can run around bare without freezing her tush off. :-)

Welcome back, by the way. Hope to see you at the family Christmas party.

Oh, that's totally normal! We stopped and started a couple times with Avery. Now Anna wants to start, and I fully expect for it to be a short-lived phase. It's just baby steps in the right direction. :) Good luck! And Merry Christmas!

Not to worry. Aidan is just getting the hang of it and he's three. It's common for kids to do well at first when it's something new and then have problems later when it becomes boring. I'm convinced that all you can do is teach them the mechanics and then wait until they WANT to be potty trained. No amount of cajoling, bribing or frustration will change that.
